Hemingway Variants

Most people are aware of the usual Hemingway, Hemmingway & Hemmenway names and many seem to believe that there is no connection between them.  Having seen on my own father's birth certificate two spellings, I am satisfied that you cannot robustly state, "My name only has one "m" and therefore I cannot be related to..."

In the table below there are 117 spellings.   Some of these are true variants that are connected to the core Hem(m)ingway & Hem(m)enway spellings, but I accept that the majority are what we would nowadays call "typos".   I also accept that many might not be variants, but I have not seen evidence that they truly exist as family names in their own right.  I welcome feedback on this subject.
