The Social Security Death Index contains information on millions of deceased individuals with United States social security numbers whose deaths were reported to the Social Security Administration.  Birth years for the individuals listed range from around 1860 to 2011 with the earliest death being 1945.

In this extract of 3,061 Hemingways, Hemmingways, Hemenways & Hemmenways the earliest birth is 1864 and the earliest death is 1945.  Information in these records includes name, birth date, death date, calculated age at death and last known residence for nearly all entries.
