Parish Register Extracts

The bulk of the Parish Register extracts are built up from the index meticulously researched and transcribed by Ron Hemingway of Netherton, Wakefield.  Nearly all from West Riding of Yorkshire but with many from other locations including Derbyshire, Lancashire, Nottinghamshire and the London areas.  Inevitably, with any task of this size, it is likely that there have been some transcription errors and therefore users are recommended to cross check with the original documents.

The entries are arranged alphabetically by forename and the register from which they have been taken.  The files have been prepared so that they are easily searchable, but not editable and contained in a separate document is a list of the location abbreviations (updated 5 Jan 2015) used.  If you become aware of missing or incorrect entries, please send a message to Maurice Hemingway.  If you have made extracts from Parish Registers, please consider sharing them via these pages.  I will transcribe your work to a standard format and include reference to your work on the page.  Your work will be formatted in a way that helps prevent wholesale plagiarism which is irritating, especially when undertaken by the commercial websites.
