Extracts from the UK Medical Registers 1859 - 1959 and other sources
In a similar vein to the list of publicans and innkeepers (of which there were many Hemingways) this page lists those recorded in the UK Medical Registers as having been registered as Doctors of Medicine between 1859 and 1959 (plus those from a few other sources). The table is intended to show the first published year that an individual was recorded able to practice and their residence. It also records a year when their residence is recorded as having changed.
All have undergone some form of study and examination to enable them to practice except Henry Hemingway, who is likely to have qualified by being recognised pre1815. For further information contact the General Medical Council who are the keeper of the records.

Do you have information that could be added? Please send them in and I will add them. I will also add photographs, drawings, trees etc, linked to the person or the location if you have these.
